Is Abberlasker a single malt brand? No.
Is Abberlasker the initial word of a nursery rhyme? No!
Is Abberlasker an anagram? Maybe.
Abberlasker creates soundtracks for selected books. Consists of two musicians: Berke Can Özcan and Barlas Tan Özemek. Dives deep into the world of books, sometimes is solely inspired by them, and other times transcribes words into music. May play live from inside the hero’s mind, a romantic scene in the first chapter, or the bloody massacre on the third.
The first book it grabs is French author Jean Dupont’s Mexican Mining Chronicles. No, it’s not Jean Dupont, the once-governor of Martinique. The book is written with wit, helps one to get a taste of the country’s chaotic, cartel-run, hate-fuelled, corrupted existence. Highly deserves a soundtrack of its own.
Abberlasker’s first album – named after the book – is available on all digital platforms. 10 tracks dedicated to arguably the most troubled, colourful and unpredictable land in Latin America.
You can use the music either as a companion to your reading experience, or a translator for your inner chaos.
